I have over 25 years of experience as a piano and harpsichord technician, tuning for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the University of Glasgow.

I regularly tune for concert venues and festivals including Paxton House, Haddo Arts Festival, Milngavie Music Club, Oban Music Society, Concerto Caledonia, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble and Gorbals Sound Recording Studio.

I have an extensive customer base throughout the Central Belt of Scotland and further afield.

SERVICES

PIANO AND HARPSICHORD TUNING

I offer a tuning service for upright/grand pianos, fortepiano, and harpsichord for all settings:

Private home tuning
Recording studio tuning
Concert tuning

Pianos will be tuned to concert pitch where possible.

I also specialise in harpsichord and fortepiano Early Keyboard Temperaments for historical performance practice.

REGULATION AND MAINTENANCE

Full regulation and maintenance services are available on upright and grand pianos including:

Voicing/toning
Hammer reshaping
All action repairs

Harpsichord restorations:

Restringing
Regulation
Plectra/voicing
Casework decoration/painting

CONCERT HIRE:

HARPSICHORD AND FORTEPIANO

The instruments listed below are available for concert hire:

Double manual English harpsichord after Kirckmann
Double manual French harpsichord after Goermann/Taskin
Italian virginal (best suited for small chamber ensembles)
Fortepiano after Walter

I am currently building a brand new single manual Neapolitan harpsichord which will be available to hire from 2024.
